Our Programs

The Survivor Support Group

This is a group that offers support to Survivors of Brain Injuries. The group meets on the first Monday of every month. (Excluding holidays). This support group is held at ICAN (formerly Participation Projects) 765 Brennan across from Our Lady of Perpetual Health Church.

The Caregiver Support Group

This is a group that offers support to families and friends of Survivors. A person that is a family or friend of a survivor facilitates this group. This support group is held at ICAN (formerly Participation Projects) 765 Brennan across from Our Lady of Perpetual Health Church.

Peer Mentoring Support Program:

This program connects individuals with a "veteran" of a life experience involving ABI known as the Mentor with a "Partner" who is coping with a similar ABI related situation who is in need of support. The role of the Mentor is to provide support, share information and resources with Partners who are coping with a similar ABI-related situation. These situations may occur at various points post injury.Most of the mentoring will be conducted over the telephone (some by e-mail), making it possible for anyone in Ontario to participate.

TGIF Group:

This activity is a weekly social activity linked with the Ontario March of Dimes ABI program. Members will take part in various social and educational activities around the community.

Games Day

This group is offered on Tuesday afternoons from 1 to 3 pm. This group promotes a social atmosphere for the survivors and is held at the Brain Injury Association Sudbury & District local office.

Newsletter: Our newsletter titled "The Reflection" is issue quarterly to all members of the Association.  If you would like to received a copy of the newsletter, please e-mail newsletter@biasd.com.

Fundraising: The preservation and development of BIASD is assured with the help and generosity of the Sudbury & District community.  Activities included in this category: Annual Golf Tournament, Annual "Bruz Cruz", Annual Conference and Annual Educational Dinner.

 

 

 

Public Education: We are committed to promoting the prevention and understanding of brain injuries to the people in our community.
